Things people ask before sending money

What is a SWIFT code and do I need one in Nepal?
A SWIFT code (also called BIC) identifies a specific bank and branch for international transfers. If money is arriving in Nepal from another country, the sender needs your branch SWIFT code. For transfers inside Nepal you use the branch code instead.
What is the difference between a SWIFT code and a branch code?
The SWIFT code routes money between countries. The branch code, assigned by Nepal Rastra Bank, identifies a branch inside Nepal's domestic payment systems such as RTGS, NCHL and ConnectIPS. They belong to different systems and are not interchangeable.
How do I find my branch routing number?
Search your bank or district on this site and open your branch page. Every branch record lists the SWIFT code, branch code, routing code and bank code together, with a copy button for each.
